The Common Fasteners in Daily Life

In our daily life, there are many common fasteners all around us. Today, let’s list the common fasteners together.

1.Bolt

It is a kind of fasteners made by head and threaded rod (the cylinder with external thread). It need to cooperate with nut. And it used for fastening the two parts with hole. This connection form is called bolt connection. Bolt connection belongs to  detachable connection.

2. Stud

It is a kind of fasteners only with external thread at both ends and with no head. When connecting, one of its ends must be screwed into the part with internal thread hole, and another end go through the part with hole and then screw the nut, making the two parts fasten and connect into a whole. This connection is called the stud connection, and also belongs to the detachable connection.

3.Screw

It also is a kind of fasteners made by head and threaded rod. According to the purpose, it can be divided into three categories: machine screw, set screw, and special purpose screw.

4.Nut

It is with an internal thread hole. It generally is shown for the shape of flat six angle, also has the shape of flat square or flat cylinder. It cooperate with screw, stud, or machine screw, used for fastening two parts to make them as a whole.

5.Self-tapping screw

It is similar to machine screw. But the screw thread is the dedicated self-tapping screw thread.

The common fasteners in our daily life are much more than those above, including wood screw, washer, check ring, melt and rivet.
